Samantha Parsons

Samantha Parsons is a Registered Psychologist, commencing with Thrive Psychology in 2016.

Following her graduation from Charles Sturt University with Honours in Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) in 2016, Samantha began working in Psychology and Occupational Rehabilitation in Wagga Wagga. She previously completed a double degree from University of Wollongong, Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resource Management). She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Upon completion of her degree, Samantha worked in Sydney in Human Resources which included recruitment and remuneration for a Big Four Financial Services firm. She also has six years of experience volunteering as a crisis support worker with Lifeline.

Samantha began Psychology with the interest in aiding people to find lasting ways of coping and achieving overall wellbeing in their lives. She works with clients who are private, self-referred, clients of WorkCover, Employee Assistance Programs and participants of NDIS. She has a strong interest in the areas of depression, anxiety, child and adolescent concerns and relationship issues. She draws upon the theoretical foundations of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT for Eating Disorders, Motivational Interviewing and change management.
